For the past few years, I’ve noticed that I’ve developed a strong following of people who view this blog from India. I’ve received many emails with questions from Indian natives who are considering pursuing MBA degrees or business careers, but have concerns because of their academic or professional backgrounds. This blog entry is a prime example –> The story of the pigeonholed techie. While there is a lot of general MBA applications advice available on the Web, I have yet to come across anything specifically developed for the Indian applicant segment…That is, until now.

Given the unique profile and perceived MBA application challenges for this demographic, my friend Kaneisha Grayson has developed a unique offering for Indian MBA aspirants through her MBA admissions consulting business, The Art of Applying. As with my member community, Kaneisha noticed that a large proportion of her clients were of Indian descent and had a similar set of concerns. In response to this trend, she developed a set of techniques that should be helpful to this segment of applicants. Once she told me about it, I knew that I should share the information with the folks in my own reader community.

For additional information about the webinar, please CLICK THIS LINK and check out the background information provided by Kaneisha.

For now, I’ll provide you some quick summary details about the webinar:

  • Date and Time (in India): Saturday, April 16 at 9:30 am IST
  • Date and Time (in USA): Friday, April 15 at 8 pm PST / 10 pm CST / 11 pm EST
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Link for more information: CLICK THIS LINK

By the way, if you can’t participate in the webinar live, don’t worry…Kaneisha plans to record it and will make the recording available at some point.

Before I go, I wanted to share the following message from Kaneisha regarding the upcoming event:

While I created the webinar specifically for Indians applying to top US b-schools, anyone and everyone is welcome! I’m going to debut a limited-time-only coaching special that you only get access to if you attend the webinar or get the recording. The webinar is going to be fun, informative, useful, and inspiring. Come join us for my big fat Indian webinar!

*** UPDATE ***
Kaneisha has been gracious enough to grant me the right to award free access to a recording of her India webinar to one of my site members (whether that member is Indian or not). In order to make this a fair process, I’m going to set up a randomized model to select the member who will have access to the recording out of whomever is interested in this offer.

You can let me know that you’d like to be considered for this offer in one of two ways:
(1) Leave a comment on this blog post (including your member name) indicating your interest
(2) Send me an email to ask me to enter your member name into the drawing

As an added bonus, I’ll put an additional 5 entries into the randomizer for the member who leaves the best comment about my recent interview with Kaneisha, which can be found at http://www.marquisparker.com/2010/11/conversation-with-kaneisha-grayson-founder-of-the-art-of-applying/ between today and Dec. 15, 2010.

I’ll run the randomizer on Dec. 15, 2010 and will notify the winner via email. Please feel free to tell your friends and colleagues who are applying for business school about this opportunity to gain free access to the recording of Kaneisha’s webinar.

Good luck!

UPDATE 12/11/10
Kaneisha has decided to postpone the webinar until after Round 3 applications have been submitted. Here are some comments from her about it:

The webinar has been postponed to Saturday, April 16 at 9:30 am IST. Since so many people requested that the webinar be free, I have to move it to after R3 applications are finished. I’m willing to work for free sometimes but not during peak season!

For all of you living outside of India, that’s Friday, April 15 at 8 pm PST / 10 pm CST / 11 pm EST.

Don’t worry if you can’t make it live! The webinar will be recorded.

Remember – the webinar is limited to 100 people! Be there – or be . . . sad.
