Applying to jobs via company websites versus internal referrals

The email below is a quick message from a reader wondering whether companies actually review the resumes that candidates submit through their websites. This is a tough one to answer with a broad generalization because company recruiting policies vary widely. I’ve tried my best to provide a good response to him anyway. This video is far shorter than my usual responses, so I didn’t include any summary key points, as I normally would. Short questions like this are great because they’re pretty easy for me to knock out.
