Hi,—–
I am doing my Btech final year in Computer Science in India. Overall 72% and 3rd in class. I am a FSF enthusiast and the president of CSI student chapter of my college. My profile is at: http://www.roshan-jose.blogspot.com.
I wish to do an integrated Masters in Computer Science and MBA. Can you provide me information upon how I can pursue this in good universities in US.
Thanks,
RJ
My video response:
Query about identifying dual degree MBA and MS in CS programs from Marquis Parker on Vimeo.
Key points:
- Develop a list of five to ten strong MBA and MS in Computer Science programs that you find interesting
- Once the lists are developed, do some background research to determine whether any of the schools in either list offer an integrated MBA and MS in Computer Science joint degree program
- My advice would be the place higher priority on getting into the better MBA program than the better MS in Computer Science because a stronger MBA degree will provide more benefit in the market when seeking a job
- If the schools in either the MBA or MS in Computer Sciencelist don’t offer an integrated joint degree, I would recommend reaching out to the schools to determine whether it would be possible to custom design a joint degree program in order to complete both degrees at the same school

I just received the following in an email from a long-time reader named DP:
“Wow!!! FSF.
Well, I can help you a bit here.
I was inducted to the FSMK (Free Software Movement Karnataka) and I was among the organizing team 3rd National Free Software Conference 2010, which happened this Saturday and Sunday and I just returned from it.
Every state is initiating FSM initiative and as per my knowledge, states like Karnataka, Kerela, TamilNadu and Andhra Pradesh are working closely with the government to promote FS in the govt. and academics. So, if your reader is on any of these states, ask him to get him touch with the corresponding committees to see how he can contribute to the cause. If he is in Karnataka, he can touch base with me at deepak.iiitb@gmail.com“
