Hey, everyone. This is a quick entry to announce that I’ve implemented a membership-based model for MarquisParker.com. From now on, the majority of the content on the site will only be fully-viewable to registered members who have logged in. For more information about the different membership levels and how to register, please see the “Membership” page (linked on the header navigation bar). Thanks for your support of my site.
My long-time readers are familiar with the content provided on MarquisParker.com, but, for those of you who may be new to my site, the following excerpt from the “About Me” page gives an overview of the type of content that can be found here:
“The one constant about this site is that it’s just me sharing what’s inside my head exactly as I would in real life, which, for better or for worse, is that only way that I know how to do it. As you read through the entries, you’ll see me go through three distinct phases in my life:
- Pre-MBA experience: The first year of this blog describes the experiences that one typically goes through before matriculating at business school, including filling out the applications, completing admissions interviews, attending admit weekends, leaving an employer, and moving to a new locale.
- Life as an MBA student: The second and third years of this blog cover the highs and lows of my time as a student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in much more detail than most would expect to see. Thinking back, I probably shouldn’t have put myself out there so much, but I’ve heard that many people have benefited from it.
- Post-MBA life…and serving as a career/education/life coach to the masses: Since graduating from Stanford GSB, this blog has morphed from being about me and my story to being more about providing advice to my readers. Folks send me emails about a particular issues and I respond to them with my thoughts and advice on the matter. I still try to talk about myself every now and then, but I mostly try to use what I’ve learned through my own missteps and experiences to help others achieve their goals and avoid making the same missteps. “
