What’s going on, everyone. Earlier today, I was notified that I made a big misstep when I ported everything from my old Blogger-hosted site to this new version hosted on my own domain. I thought I’d covered all of the bases in the process, but I totally forgot about the people who had subscribed to my site through RSS feeds and followed my updates using feed readers. Those feeds all lead back to http://marquisweblog.blogspot.com and are not updated when I post new entries on here. Looks like I forgot to post a final entry over there with this new URL, so folks would have had no idea about the change if they use feed readers.

Unfortunately, I put auto-redirects in and erased all of the HTML on the old Blogger-hosted version of the site, so I’m not sure if/how I can get a message out to my reader who subscribed to that old version through RSS feeds. I’ll figure out some way to get the word to those folks. If you were affected by this, my bad.

For all of you feed-followers out there, the URL to the feed for this new version of the site is http://www.marquisparker.com/feed/. Please update your feed subscriptions if this is how you access my updated entries. To make it a little easier to do this, there is a feed icon that will direct you to the update function for several feed readers on the upper right-hand portion of this page.

Before I go, I’d like to give a shout out to “N.M.” for bringing this issue to my attention. I wouldn’t have even thought about it if it weren’t for her email copied below:

Hi Marquis!

Just wanted to give you a heads up, those of us who read your website from a feed (I see there are at least 309) may not have transferred to your new site… when I checked out the page today I saw a bunch of new posts and had to resubscribe to your new address!  Since the last post on the feed didn’t mention the new address I may not be the only person who missed it.

While I’m emailing, I would like to say THANK YOU for being so generous with your time and knowledge.  It is a huge relief and inspiration to hear from an MBA who seems -real- (normal/human) especially for me because I don’t know any MBAs in ‘real life’ but still want to get an MBA.  I also respect that when people flaunt your request to limit length, etc., you let them know it’s out of line.  A reality check delivered in a nice way is probably more helpful to these folks than a long, detailed response to their question!  So thank you and please keep it up!
