Hey there, everyone. This is a quick entry for me to introduce y’all to a new blog called “Considering Consulting” written by an aspiring Management Consultant named KR. The interesting thing about KR is that he’s a Pharmacist with a PharmD, a PhD, and an MBA and he’s now ready to leave his industry behind to make a transition into Consulting. When searching for information on recruiting into the industry, he didn’t find too many resources, so he decided to blog about his own experiences to provide a resource for others (sort of like how I was motivated to start this site). To check out KR’s “Considering Consulting” blog, CLICK HERE. He’s been very specific about his experiences with individual companies and, because he’s writing anonymously, he’s able to give MUCH more detail about those companies than I can on here.
Because KR has been so detailed about what he’s going through on the road to consulting, I’ve also included a link to his blog on “Blogroll” list in the navigation bar on here. He’s offering some really great advice in his posts and I’m certain that it will be a good resource for those of you seeking a position at a Consulting firm.
By way of introduction, I’ve copied the content from his first blog entry below to give you an idea of why he started recording his experiences in the Consulting recruiting game:

“For quite some time I have found myself “googling” and “googling” looking for some kind of real inside insight into the consulting world. Specifically, how the hell do I get a job in consulting? What kinds of things are the big 4 firms really looking for? What happens behind the doors of the interview? How are offers made?
For the most part I haven’t seen anything that was really sufficient and that really answered the question I had before I started my “googling” quest. To try and do my part to right this egregious wrong, I decided that it is my duty to post at least the bits and parts of my experience thus far to try and shed some light on what the process of applying, interviewing, and ultimately landing a position in strategy/management consulting is like.
Because of my limitations with time, I probably won’t update the blog every day or even every other day….probably every week to few weeks once I regurgitate the knowledge I have built up over the last few years.
If you have questions for me, please ask….I would like to make this an interactive experience!”
