What’s up, folk. This is sort of a “drive-by” entry to let you know about a great new blog that was launched recently. The author of the blog is my man Detavio, who some of my long-time readers may recognize as my roommate for two years at Stanford GSB. Marketing has been one of Detavio’s passions for a while and he’s guided his career in that direction since the GSB, starting off in global marketing at Johnson & Johnson and continuing on to his current position as a Global Account Director at GlobalHue, a global marketing communications agency dedicated to multi-cultural consumers.
Now, Detavio has taken his passion for marketing and is trying to teach people about the ins and outs of it through his blog. Upon reading his first few entries, I knew that he was putting together something really useful, especially for people trying to learn about how to build brands and communicate business messages well. I wanted to pub his blog on here a couple of weeks ago, but he didn’t want me to do so until he made some cosmetic adjustments to it. I asked him to type up a paragraph to describe what is site is all about and he gave me the following:
“reThink is a new blog designed to make you see life and marketing through a different lens. why life and marketing? it’s simple. many lessons we learn in life can be applied to marketing and similarly, many of the lessons we learn in marketing can be applied to life. reThink has provocative thought-starters and insights that will make you stop for two seconds and reThink your current approach.”

OK, y’all know that I’m really big on publicizing resources that you might enjoy (especially when they’re provided by friends of mine), so I encourage you to check Detavio’s blog out. As someone who knows next to nothing about marketing, I’ve found his content to be highly insightful and helpful to get spun-up on the concepts pretty quickly. Plus, he updates the content almost daily, so there’s always something new to learn from him.
