Happy New Year 2009!!!
Categories: Random categories, venture capital
2008 has been a historic year both positively (OBAMA!!!) and negatively (O-DRAMA…meltdown of the US and world economy), so I’m really interested to see what happens in 2009. Also, more personally, 2008 has been a year of MAJOR life change for me (in more ways than y’all know) and I’m especially looking forward to see what God has in store for The Kid in the next 12 months.
Before I go, I wanted to leave you with a few comments:
1. I recently realized that my man John G. (Penn undergrad, Columbia MBA) killed his old blog (J-Term Johnny) and started a new one focused on the Venture Capital industry. I’ve read some of his entries in the past few days and he’s got some really great stuff up there, particularly if you want to pursue a job in VC. You can check it out at Yet Another VC Blog and I’ve also updated the link to it on the right-hand navigation bar on this site.
2. I recently came across a fantastic article on BusinessWeek.com about how business schools are being urged by recruiters to diversify, with a focus on underrepresented minorities. This is a topic that it near and dear to me for obvious reasons and I wanted to share it with y’all. You can check out the article here –> Business Schools Urged to Diversify
3. PLEASE be careful during your celebrations tonight. I know that many people will be drinking and partying, which is all good, but I hope everyone is safe while they’re out. NO DRINKING AND DRIVING!!! I hate hearing stories of families being affected by drunk drivers and we don’t need that happening tonight. Even though I haven’t met y’all, I consider you all to be my peoples, so watch out for yourselves, OK? But, at the same time, make sure you have fun!!!

Marquis,
Thanks for the great post as always
.
Wish you even greater success in 2009!
