What’s going on, everyone. This is going to be a relatively short entry because the email I’m responding to is asking for the world but isn’t giving me much to work from. So, I couldn’t really give the guy much in terms of a response. I’m not saying that anyone who emails me should send me a dissertation’s worth of text in an email (because I don’t have time to read all that), but I ask that people are willing to put some thought into their own situation before emailing me. I don’t mind being of assistance, but I really… Read the rest
The email below is a response from the reader whose message was posted yesterday. I love getting a quick response to an email that I’ve put a lot of time into, but it’s even better when the person truly “gets it”. I’m posting this response because SZ’s perspective might prove helpful to other readers out there.

Thank you so much for getting around to my question. I really appreciate your time and perspective.
When I first sent in my question, I was still interning at Deloitte, and I was curious about what other firms had to… Read the rest

Wow, y’all know I really like getting emails from undergrad kids who are being thoughtful about their road to an MBA while in college. I wish I’d had such forethought back in the day, so I always get an extra kick out of responding to their emails. The reader below seems to be in the process of building a really strong background and is looking for some advice on how to further direct that effort.
One of these days, I’ve got to get a job in a business school’s admissions office because I truly wonder what they think and talk… Read the rest

What’s good, fam. I hope you’re all doing well as you’re reading this entry. As I write this entry, I’m thankful to have this blog to distract me from the ups and downs of this thing called life. Sometimes, I wish I had a “Marquis” that I could email for guidance when I need it, but I haven’t found him/her yet (if the person is even out there). Until then, I’ll just keep on responding to y’all and get the boost that comes with knowing that y’all are checkin’ for The Kid and the perspective provided here. Anyways, let me… Read the rest
As many of you in the U.S. know, the upcoming presidential race has become very heated over the past month or so. Well, I saw this YouTube clip today and it was so shocking that I HAD to post the link to it. You don’t have to watch it if you don’t want to, but it is pretty eye-opening: This video made me say ‘WOW!’… Read the rest
What’s good, y’all. I hope everyone had a nice Labor Day holiday weekend and didn’t have too hard of a time getting back into the groove of work. I know it’s hard to go from that day-off back to the regular grind, but at least the end of the week is a day closer when you start back at work, right?
Anyways, the entry below is from a prospective business school student who has a pretty interesting profile. I won’t recap it here because you’ll read it in her email below, but I know that she’ll be a unique case… Read the rest

OK, y’all know I love ‘da kids, especially when they’re looking at the MBA journey early on in undergrad…so, I had to share this email from an undergrad at Duke. Plus, she’s also from the South, so I am pulling for her bigtime, even if she did try to knock the great state of VA in her email
The most eyecatching thing about her email is that she’s planning on using her own story through the MBA journey to help others along the way…sounds kinda familiar, huh?
Also, I encourage the younger readers out there to look into the… Read the rest
