Hey everyone. This is going to be a quick post, but I thought it was worth putting up to help a great organization. One of my GSB classmates forwarded the following email to me about an organization called Embrace that is hoping to help premature babies in developing countries. It is currently being led by a GSB’08 alum, so you know I’ve got to put my support behind it. Here’s some more information.

Embrace aims to save 20 million low birth weight and premature babies born each year in developing countries through a $25 infant incubator (vs. traditional incubators that cost up to $20,000).
Help us raise $1.5 million in 5 minutes…
Please help Embrace by nominating us for American Express’ Members Project 2008. The top five projects will share $2.5 million in funding based on the total number of votes. Please vote by September 1st!
Here’s what you can do:
1) Follow the link to our project (http://www.membersproject.com/project/view/AGAYRZ)
2) Click on “Nominate this Project”
3) Login as an American Express Card Member, or sign up as a guest member. **You do not need to be an American Express Cardholder to participate**
4) Then click “Nominate this Project” again
Unfortunately, the contest ends September 1, so we need a rush of votes to catch the current frontrunner (an organization that is not saving babies ) and secure the $1.5 million. This is where you come in.
But first some math:
The current frontrunner has around 5,000 votes
Embrace presently has only 78! (If you ever rooted for Rudy, Frodo, the Average Joes, or Seabiscuit, this is your fight!)
If 155 people get 15 of their friends to vote for Embrace, and then those 15 friends each got 15 more friends to vote for Embrace, that would be 34,875 votes!!!
