I just got the email from my man Joost (GSB ’06) to announce the launch of his company’s new site GlobalMotion.com. It sounds like a really good concept and, best of all, it will be driven by inputs of the general public, including all of you. Please take a look at his message and see if there is any content that you can add to the site. Thanks.

I wanted to let you know that my company has just launched a new
site, www.globalmotion.com. Please take a look. I also wanted to ask
for some help (see below).
First a quick intro: GlobalMotion is a wiki platform that is designed
to make it very easy to create descriptions of places, using a
collaborative “wiki” model. The goal is to create a huge database of
the world’s interesting locations. Possible places at GlobalMotion
include (but are not limited too): landmarks, buildings, stadiums,
cool travel spots, restaurants, and many more. Once we reach critical
mass, the goal is to become the go to place to find information about
any type of location, either using the web, or your mobile device.
I wanted to specifically reach out to the GSB crowd, because many of

You can help in the following 3 ways:
1 Check out the site (www.globalmotion.com) and let me know what you
think. We’ll be continuously improving the site, so any
feedback is more than welcome.
2 Add a new place. Think of any interesting place you know anywhere
in the world, for example a famous landmark in your hometown, the
stadium of your favorite team, a cool travel spot, your favorite
beach, a great golf course, the office building where you work, a
park in your neighborhood, or any other interesting location. Adding
a new place will take only a couple of minutes, and I promise that
you’ll find it surprisingly fun and easy.
3 Forward this message to your friends, and ask them to do the same.
Our beta tests have shown that GlobalMotion has a broad appeal, so
feel free to forward it to anyone.
Thanks very much, and I look forward catching up with everyone soon.
Best,
Joost”
