This is going to be a short entry, but I didn’t want to let this weekend pass without wishing all of you a happy Thanksgiving holiday. I trust that each of you had a nice observance of “Turkey Day” and, hopefully, were surrounded by family and friends. As for myself, I spent the holiday in Oklahoma with my GF’s family and had the big “Meet the Parents” event. Leading up to Thanksgiving, I was hecka nervous, but, at the start of this week, I miraculously calmed down. I guess I realized that I’m a cool cat so I likely didn’t… Read the rest

I can’t believe that the full-time on-campus recruiting cycle is coming to a close…I swear time flies. It has been a rollercoaster ride of trying to get people excited about McK, seeing the interview process come and go, and trying to think forward to cultivating the folks who were able to earn job offers. Congratulations to those of you who were able to get the offers that you wanted (whether it was at McK or not)…I know how it felt to be in your shoes a year ago and am excited for all of you. I’m writing this entry from a plane from SFO on my way back to the client site in the Midwest after having participated in the McKinsey Meet The Company presentation for the GSB’s first-year students. This trip to Palo Alto should have been routine since I’ve been back to recruit for MBA2′s, but it felt different this time because I was actually talking to a class of folks who had no clue who I was. I swear it made me feel SO OLD to see a new class of folks coming into the GSB right after having… Read the rest

As you guys know, I like promoting cool companies and services offered by people I know, so here’s another one. One of my GSB classmates has just launched UGenie.com, which is a search engine that scours the Internet to find the best bundled deals for a collection of items for sale. This classmate is the same one that launched TextbookGenie.com a while back, so, if you used that, then you know how cool this new site will be…
