I heard a report that a mountain lion has been sighted by people on campus in the last 24 hours. Palo Alto police just confirmed this report (on the phone), and they have no other update. For safety, I think we should assume that the mountain lion is still loose and running wild on campus.

you said that Palo Alto was getting wild but I didn’t imagine it’d get to that extent!
they always have a mountain lion running amuck on campus once a year on an average.
5 years ago when I was a grad student there, we saw one while returning from C Lab in the night with a few mates. Mostly they are quite harmless, but they sure cause a lot of panic on campus! It also seemed to be a good reason for parties in undergrad dorms, since folks preferred to stay in.
