Happy Easter! I hope all of you are enjoying this holiday and taking some time to hang out (or at least chat with) your loved ones. As for myself, I’m sitting here trying to get work done in preparation for the upcoming week. It’s so hard to stay focused nowadays because there are so many social things that I could be doing, but the work still continues to call me. Fortunately, Palo Alto is seeing some of the worst weather in ages and it seems like it has been raining on and off since before Spring Break. Usually bad weather would be undesirable, but, in my case, it’s nice to know that I’m not missing out on any “outdoors time” while I’m stuck here at my desk.
Aside from classes, the past week was pretty uneventful except for one of the biggest GSB event of the year, which took place on Friday night. That night, we had the annual C4C Auction, where a bunch of items were put up for bid with the proceeds going to charity. Normally, an auction wouldn’t be anything to get excited about, but the C4C Auction is not your normal auction…it ends up being a huge party where people all come out to support the Challenge For Charity (C4C) initiative and enjoy each other. Each year, the theme for the auction is “The White Party”, so there were about a million different variations of white outfits on the attendees. Everything from people in white tuxedos, to others in white adidas sweatsuits. If you’re interested in seeing some pics from the event, here’s the link to the photo album that I created on Facebook.com for it: Photo Album . Lastyear, I skipped this event because I thought it would be wack and I ended up regretting it because I heard that it was a great time. Also, with my time at the GSB getting shorter every day, I didn’t want to miss out on a chance to get some social and bonding time in with my classmates. The auction didn’t get as wild as I hard it did last year, but it was still a good time and they raised a TON of money for charity, so it was all good. Afterward, a bunch of the attendees went to a local club/bar called Rudy’s for an after party and I know the locals must’ve been shocked to see 200+ people roll in there wearing all white and taking over the dance floor. When the GSB students party, we PARTY!
Aight, time for me to jump off of this computer to run on campus and meet a study group for my Urban Education course…while all my roomies are just kickin’ it because they’ve got all their work done through the end of this week. I wish I’d created an easier academic quarter for myself

Hi, Rahul here, currenlty a senior undergrad in India, will be joining Stanford this Fall for an MS in CS. Your blog is really interesting, as well as inspirational. Wished we could meet but I guess you would have left by the time I get there. Anyways, cheers to you for Booz.
hey marquis -
thanks for your comment on my blog, although it is surprising that you didnt know about it already – guess i made a wrong assumption
i was infact thinking about getting in touch with you again. this app season hasnt been very good for me, and i thought i would clarify some of my doubts. i am sure you will have a few minutes to spare, as always
that aside, i really enjoyed the snaps you posted – but apart from a couple of named people, many from the crowd went unnamed – was it a mix of GSB and other Stanford people ?
cheers,
F
The pictures from the party were almost all GSB people, but the named ones were people who had accounts on Facebook.com so I could tag the pics with their names. I guess I should have explained that in the post where i put the link…sorry about that
Feel free to hit me up about your application struggles. You know I’ve got your back.
