Today is the start of the biggest social event that will take place at the GSB, the Challenge for Charity (C4C) Weekend. This event brings B-school students from UCLA, Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, University of Washington, and USC together for a weekend of sports, partying, and overall fun all in the spirit of giving to a few great charities.

As I’ve written in here before, I’m a part of the planning committee for it, so it’s going to be a long weekend, but it’ll be one that becomes on of the big memories for the school year. My… Read the rest

OK, so I just got home from getting my swole on and I must’ve pulled something because my back is hurting like crazy. That only added to the frustrations of the day, which include being bothered because:

- I’m the Volunteer Coordinator for this weekend’s C4C Weekend and I can’t seem to get all of the volunteer slots filled (If any MBA1′s are reading this, y’all need to step up BIGTIME)
- I picked up my graduating loan borrowers packet today and saw how much I will owe in loans when I graduate (I knew that I was borrowing a… Read the rest

Wow, I’m realizing that I’ve gotten pretty janky about putting new entries up here so far this quarter. I know that once per week is pretty consistent and all, but I really would like to be giving you guys something new to read a lot more often than that. From now on, I’m going to get better at uploading entries, especially since I’ve only got a few more weeks left in B-school and may not have anything interesting to blog about after that.

There is a ton of activity around Stanford this weekend with there being two sets of Admit… Read the rest

Happy Easter! I hope all of you are enjoying this holiday and taking some time to hang out (or at least chat with) your loved ones. As for myself, I’m sitting here trying to get work done in preparation for the upcoming week. It’s so hard to stay focused nowadays because there are so many social things that I could be doing, but the work still continues to call me. Fortunately, Palo Alto is seeing some of the worst weather in ages and it seems like it has been raining on and off since before Spring Break. Usually bad weather… Read the rest

One week down, nine to go…

What’s up, y’all. I’ve reached the end of my first week of classes and, surprisingly, I’m completely relaxed instead of freaked out by the volume of work I’ve got ahead of me in the next nine weeks. Being able to see that light at the end of the tunnel goes a long way towards allowing one to take it easy in his final term in school.

If I haven’t said it on here before, I absolutely love Stanford GSB’s grade non-disclosure policy. It allows us to focus on learning without being too worried about how well we do in our… Read the rest

Ah, I can’t believe that Spring quarter is already here. I’ve only got 10 more weeks of classes left and then my time at the GSB will be done. It’s good to see the light at the end of the tunnel approaching, but it’s scary to think I’ve got to walk away from my classmates into the real world.

I got back from the Spring break trip to Morocco late last night (or early this morning depending on how you look at it) and I can safely say that it was one of the highlights of my time in business… Read the rest
