Here’s another excerpt from the log I’ve been keeping that I thought you guys might find interesting:

The past day or so has been a wild one that has pretty made this a lifetime sort of experience. It all started yesterday morning when we started out on an 8.5 hour bus ride from Fez to the outskirts of the Sahara Desert. After reaching a hotel at that location, we got out of our bus and packed into a set of Land Rovers for a 45-minute drive through the Sahara to an encampment in the middle of the desert where tourists Read the rest

Morocco update

I had a heck of a day doing a walking tour of the downtown area of Fez and had some interesting experiences. The following is an excerpt of a log that I’ve been keeping to share what I do on this trip with my GF and I thought you guys might find it funny:

I’m not sure why, but it seemed that random folks all over the city of Fez wanted to sell me something…just me. I was like they would seek me out to offer me items and I was taking care to not make eye contact with them.

Time to finish this trip to Morocco

Yo, I am dead tired right now. After only getting an hour of sleep on the overnight red-eye flight from SFO to JFK, I spent the day running around in Manhattan trying to make productive use of the 12 hour layover that we had before our flight out to Morocco. I was able to get a lot of stuff done, such as lunch with some classmates, a 6-month checkup appointment with my LASIK doctor, and some time in an internet café to get caught up on email. I was fine for most of that time, but, for the past hour… Read the rest

A long trip to Morocco has started

What’s up, y’all. My trip to morocco has officially started and I’m writing this entry on the flight from SFO to JFK. You might be asking why I brought my laptop on this trip and, honestly, I’m asking myself the same thing. Part of it is that I wanted to be able to download pics from my camera to keep the memory card from filling up. Also, I wanted to be able to type our my accounts of what goes down during the trip so I can add it to this blog and share it with all of you. Probably… Read the rest

Spring Break is here…

Published on March 22, 2006 by in Uncategorized

Spring Break has officially started for MBA2′s, but MBA1′s are still stuck in the fire of Winter quarter. The difference comes because GSB electives usually don’t have final exams during Finals week, so our time in class concludes when classes end. On the other hand, the first-years have mostly Core classes, which each have an exam during the Finals week, so, while we’re off starting our 2-week Spring Break, they’re cramming like crazy and limping to the finish line where a 1-week break awaits them. Part of me feels a little sorry for the MBA1′s, but, when I think back… Read the rest

Gotta give a recap of last weekend

The past few days have been crazy with meetings, classes, and assignments, so I haven’t been able to write an entry to recap what was a pretty busy weekend here at the GSB. Here goes the update…

Every year during either the first or second week of March, the BBSA holds its annual Liquidity Preference Function (LPF…basically it’s a weekly happy hour at the GSB that some club sponsors) on friday afternoon followed by the BBSA conference on Saturday. This year,I, along with my BBSA Comunity and Social co-Chair KW (who did the planning), were responsible for putting on the… Read the rest

What’s up, y’all. I’m sorry for being a little slow on putting up entries lately. I’ve had a ton of work to do since the end of last week because I’m currently in the final week of the Winter quarter…Spring Break starts on Friday and I can’t wait. Between knocking out an individual final paper, working on three group final papers, an individual final presentation, two group final presentations, and my Touchy Feely T-group final feedback (that one alone took me 7-8 hours to do), I’ve been swamped. Plus, the BBSA Conference and Admit Weekend both took place this weekend,… Read the rest

Vegas FOAM

Published on March 9, 2006 by in Uncategorized

I can’t remember if I ever wrote about the fact that Vegas FOAM was coming up, but it went downon Tuesday night and it was one of those epic nights that makes up the business school experience at the GSB.

FOAM is an acronym for “Friends of Arjay Miller” and is the name of the running Tuesday night social events where GSB students get together and have drinks as a means to unwind after the first-half of the week. Usually, FOAM is held at local Palo Alto bars, but, once a year, it moves to Las Vegas and it is… Read the rest
