Making it to the second rounds at companies is a great feeling, but getting turned down by all of the second rounds you get is rough.

Marquis,
Have you thought about trying to carve yourself a summer position with the corporate strategy or product marketing groups at the likes of Google, Ebay, Gap, etc.?
There are quite a few people in these groups from Stanford and ex-Mckinsey folks that might be able to help you out in 10wks working with them.
Then again, there is always India…
Thanks for the tip. I’ve started looking into corporate strategy positions and i’m also considering IT consulting internships as my way of using my past work experiences to help me get my foot in the door in the Consulting industry.
It’s just tough to think that I’m going to have to continue this job search on my own.
Marquis,
I think you’ll find the process of finding your own internship for the summer to be a valuable and rewarding experience. Outside of top-tier investment banks and consulting firms, this is how the rest of the world gets their jobs…at least at the analyst and associate levels.
Check out Diamond Cluster International for IT Consulting Internships. If you go for one of the big 4 IT Consulting Gigs, make sure you don’t get lumped in with everyone else, if you can help it. Go for their strategy group focused on the high level work. Otherwise, you’ll be working on ERP, CRM, and building web pages.
Best of luck to you Marquis.
